August Alsina: R&B Singer Collapses During NYC Performance

widget_background_images__3_R&B up-and-comer August Alsina collapsed onstage at the Irving Plaza in New York City late on Sept. 15 — is he OK?

After having just made headlines for releasing his video for “No Love (Remix)” featuring Nicki MinajAugust Alsina, 22, passed out onstage at a show in New York City on September 15.

As you can see in the video — one of many recorded and uploaded by fans from his show — August goes suddenly limp before his fall. It doesn’t appear as if he tripped, and according to eyewitness sources at TMZ, security had to take August backstage while he was still seemingly unconscious.

Paramedics also arrived on the scene to wheel him away on a stretcher, but TMZ is reporting that August was alert enough to wave to fans on his way out. We’re so glad that he was well enough to do that, but we hope he’s OK! The reason for his collapse is unknown at this time.

August Alsina Won the Award For Best New Artist At The BETs

August has been tearing up the charts ever since the release of his Testimony album in April, which debuted at #2 on the U.S. Billboard 200, and at #1 on the U.S. Top R&B/Hip Hop Billboard chart. At the BET Awards in June, August won two of the four awards he was nominated for, including the prestigious award for Best New Artist.
He also made headlines this spring when he flipped out on 106 & Park co-hostKeshia Chante, 26, for asking about his feud with rapper Trey Songz.
